You may be seeking baptism for yourself or for your child or grandchild. As part of the Anglican tradition, we baptise people of all ages and all stages of life.
Baptism is the sign of new life in Christ, and unites us with God forever! Candidates are baptized as 'Christians,' not as 'Anglicans.' Christian churches around the world recognize baptisms done in a different Christian denomination. The ancient 'Trinitarian' formula is an essential part of baptism: "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
The sacrament of Holy Baptism usually occurs at a Sunday morning Service, surrounded by our loving community of Christians at St. Anne and St. Edmunds. Our Rector tries hard to accommodate your preferred date for baptism - so don't be afraid to ask! And we will have you meet with the Incumbent to work out all the details of the service and go over the promises we make at baptism.
Confirmation
Confirmation is sacramental rite where a baptized person publicly affirms their faith and receives prayer and the laying on of hands by our Bishop with prayers for strength through the Holy Spirit. Confirmation is offered once a year and is often a service held at our Cathedral in Victoria.
If you have any questions or would like to inquire about either baptism or confirmation - we are here to help!
